Dr. David Shelledy, chairman of respiratory care, has been elected vice president for internal affairs for the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) for 2001. In his new post, Dr. Shelledy will meet four times a year with the AARC Board of Directors to set policy and make business decisions for the association, which includes about 32,000 members nationwide and in three international affiliates. The vice president for internal affairs also serves as board liaison for all of AARC's committees and sections.
Dr. Shelledy previously was an elected director for the AARC board for four years and was the AARC representative to the Coalition for Allied Health Leadership for 1999. He has been nominated to run for AARC president in the fall.
