Prosthodontics student is 'Best of the Best'
Dental advanced education student Dr. Scott R. Dyer recently enjoyed a free trip to Hawaii. The trip was part of an award he won last year while a senior dental student in Oregon.
Dr. Dyer won the Waterpik Technologies 2000 Grand Prize "Best of the Best: Excellence in Prosthodontics" Award. He was first selected from the Oregon Health Sciences University School of Dentistry as the best in academic knowledge and clinical skills in prosthodontics. Then, he was chosen from dental school winners across the country as the "Best of the Best."
As the winner, Dr. Dyer received a plaque and was Waterpik's guest at the recent American College of Prosthodontists meeting in Hawaii, where he attended courses on the principles of occlusion.
As a Health Science Center student, Dr. Dyer is enrolled in the three-year program that leads to a certificate and a master of science in prosthodontics. "I'm really enjoying San Antonio and this graduate program, which is considered one of the best in the country," he said.
