MAPA welcomes Hispanic medical students
The Mexican American Physicians Association (MAPA) recently awarded scholarships to Hispanic students registering for Medical School. Dr. Ernesto Parra (left), MAPA president, presents an award to incoming medical student Joseph Dimas, a native of Corpus Christi who graduated from the University of Dallas. Dr. Parra is a clinical associate professor of family practice at the Health Science Center. MAPA is a professional organization of more than 100 members who participate in educational programs offered to high school, college and medical school students.
