EMT Department stages realistic demonstration
The Department of Emergency Medical Technology enacted an extremely realistic demonstration recently of emergency response to an automobile accident involving multiple casualties. Third-year medical students watched local emergency crews extricate the "victims" from the car, stabilize them and transport them to hospitals. An Air Life helicopter flew the most "critically injured" to University Hospital.
Dr. Donald Gordon (right), EMT Department chair, answers medical students' questions following the demonstration, which was well attended by the media. |
