Research Day set for May 2
Research Day, an annual event in which young researchers from the Department of Medicine showcase their work, begins at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, in the lecture hall foyer with poster presentations. Oral presentations start at noon in room 209L in the Medical School.
The event also will include Dr. David Ho, director and professor at the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center in New York. Dr. Ho will discuss "Viral and Lymphocyte Dynamics in HIV Infection" from 4 to 5 p.m. in lecture hall 3.102B near the Briscoe Library. An awards presentation and reception will follow in the lecture hall foyer. Health Science Center faculty, staff and students are invited to attend. Mac Users Group to meet May 3
The Health Science Center Macintosh Users Group (Tex-MUG) will hold its next meeting at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, in the Briscoe Library, room 2C.
Dr. Jose Treviņo of San Antonio will discuss MediMac, an operating system and software used by health care professionals. Tex-MUG meetings are open to the public.
HSC pet clinic closed May 3-5

Medical ethics seminar offered
"Real World Medical Ethics: Useful Concepts for Everyday Practice," is scheduled for May 6 as part of the Health Science Center's Continuing Medical Education programs. The seminar will include discussions on moral viewpoints, the law and good medical practice.

Outback Night to benefit March of Dimes
Health Science Center faculty and staff are invited to attend Outback Night from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, in the courtyard.
The cost is $11 per person for a sirloin steak or grilled chicken, one side item, Caesar salad, bread, a beverage and cheesecake. Proceeds from the event benefit the March of Dimes organization. Tickets can be purchased from a March of Dimes HealthWalk department representative or by contacting Anna Uriegas by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
