Summer 1997 Mission

Corpus Christi's expanded medical residency program at Spohn Memorial Hospital is adding a new dimension to instruction. Residents under the direction of faculty members such as Mary Manis, MD, (left) are involved in interdisciplinary training with nursing students. The clinical training is part of the family nurse practitioner master's program at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. "We use these clinics to help promote a team approach to problem solving," said Karen Koozer Olson, PhD, director of the family nurse practitioner program.
