The recipients , who received their awards in May, were the top graduates in jurisprudence from their respective schools. The awards are named in memory of Thomas H. Sharp Jr., a San Antonio attorney and Health Science Center faculty member who taught the jurisprudence course at both schools until his death.
The Thomas H. Sharp Jr. Memorial Fund was established in 1990 to recognize the highest achievers in the course, which deals with legal issues pertinent to the medical and dental fields. The fund is supported by the Sharp family, its friends and the legal community.
