Dental Drive

February 2005

by Natalie Gutierrez

The Dental School is nestled behind Texas Live Oak and Cedar Elm trees on a horseshoe-shaped path called Dental Drive. For decades this pathway has led top-notch faculty and staff members through the building’s doors.

Behind those doors, they work with great skill to bring first-rate care to their patients and the best education to their students.

Leading them is Kenneth Kalkwarf, D.D.S., M.S., dean of the Dental School – the driving force behind the Dental School’s success.

As the school celebrates 35 years of unparalleled achievements, Dean Kalkwarf is grateful for the contributions of his predecessors, and looks forward to many more years of excellence.

Dental Drive isn’t just the name of the pathway to the Dental School. It has come to represent Dean Kalkwarf’s influence, and the attitude of every faculty and staff member and student who is driven to succeed.
