Pakieser selected for 1999 class of Leadership Texas (1-25-99)

Ruth A. Pakieser, Ph.D., R.N., assistant professor and director of curriculum resources at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio's School of Nursing, was selected for the 1999 class of Leadership Texas, a group building a strong network of women from a variety of fields and backgrounds.

Leadership Texas was established by the Foundation for Women's Resources, a non-profit organization that celebrates, educates and connects women of diverse gifts and extends their strengths to a broader public. Group meetings will be held in Austin, Tyler, Lubbock, Dallas and San Antonio during 1999.

Dr. Pakieser joined the School of Nursing in 1996 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Her current research focuses on domestic violence, specifically the decision-making processes of battered women.
