Laredo students learn about careers in biomedicine (6/21/97)

More than 30 high school students from Laredo spent five days in San Antonio last week learning about preparing for college life and biomedical careers.

Students visited San Antonio universities, biomedical and cultural sites, and attended special presentations by faculty from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, sponsor of the Summer Enrichment Biomedical Program, which ended Friday, June 20.

The visit was made possible with the help of the South Texas/Border Region Health Education Initiative, a legislative program to expand health education programs in the Laredo area.

The students who attended, and their respective schools or school districts, are:
