Promotions announced (12-20-00)

Francisco G. Cigarroa, M.D., president of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, recently announced several promotions and organizational changes designed to increase efficiency and streamline operations at the Health Science Center. The new appointments include:

*Steven A. Wartman, M.D., Ph.D., to executive vice president for academic and health affairs. He will continue to serve as dean of the Medical School.

*James D. Kazen to executive vice president for administration.

*Judy P. Wolf to senior vice president for external affairs. She announced the following appointments in that department: Charles G. Rodriguez, Ph.D., as assistant vice president for university relations, Michael M. Crosby as assistant vice president for development and Will C. Sansom as director of news and information.

*Mary G. Etlinger to chief of staff and executive associate to the president.

*Harry S. “Steve” Lynch Jr. to interim vice president for business affairs and chief business officer.
