American Academy of Nursing selects Grossman, Rodriguez (7-9-99)Drs. Divina Grossman and Rachel Rodriguez, faculty members in the School of Nursing at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, have been appointed to the American Academy of Nursing, the highest honor granted in the field. They will be inducted in November.
Dr. Grossman, appointed chair of the Department of Chronic Nursing Care in 1998, received her Ph.D. in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. Before joining the Health Science Center, she chaired the Adult/Gerontological and Psychiatric Nursing Department at Florida International University's School of Nursing. She is writing a Primer of Nursing Research, to be published by Addison-Wesley.
Dr. Rodriguez, a graduate of the Health Science Center's School of Nursing and an associate professor in the Department of Chronic Nursing Care, earned her Ph.D. in nursing from Texas Woman's University. Her most recent project was a study of domestic violence among migrant farm workers, funded by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
