Jaime R. Garza M.D., D.D.S., F.A.C.S., a faculty member of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and local physician, was one of only three from Texas invited to participate in the “Forbes Healthcare Summit, Healthcare in the USA: Prescription for Change.”

Dr. Garza is a clinical professor of surgery and otolaryngology and assistant dean of South Texas Community Affairs in the School of Medicine. He joined industry specialists from around the globe to discuss positive and effective ways to transform the health care system, particularly as it relates to increased affordability and access to care. Additionally, summit attendees worked to highlight new financial models that encourage innovation in health care and drive economic growth.

Non-partisan solutions to health care issues
“I was honored to participate in this one-of-a-kind summit, which brought together key stakeholders spanning the entire health care spectrum,” Dr. Garza said. “Doctors, government officials, leading executives from pharmaceutical and insurance companies, leaders of top health care networks and medical centers joined together to discuss non-partisan solutions to affect transformational change in our health care delivery system.”
