A UT Health Science Center San Antonio faculty member has published a comprehensive textbook in the rapidly evolving field of tumor immunotherapy. Tyler Curiel, M.D., M.P.H., a professor in the School of Medicine, is editor of “Cancer Immunotherapy,” the first major textbook on the topic since 2007 and the most comprehensive to date. .....more»

Headline News: Regents establish scholarship in Chancellor Cigarroa’s name

The University of Texas System Board of Regents has authorized the establishment of a scholarship endowment to honor Chancellor Francisco G. Cigarroa, M.D. The scholarship endowment will support students attending the new medical school in South Texas. Roy Robinson, a Vietnam veteran from Carlsbad, N.M., said his doctors gave him one or two years to live with no hope of regaining quality of life. However, Steven R. Bailey, M.D., a cardiologist at UT Medicine San Antonio was able to restore Robinson’s quality of life by using Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement for the treatment of critical aortic stenosis.
