Maintenance

The Maintenance Shop is comprised of personnel with a wide variety of duties and responsibilities. The technicians assigned represent a cross-section of the many skills involved in the day-to-day maintenance, operation, and upkeep of HSC facilities. A dedicated team of electricians, elevator mechanics, refrigeration specialists, plumbers, and carpenters perform preventative and reactive maintenance on various building systems, maintain and repair over 7,000 pieces of building equipment and assets, and elevators.

The 24-man shop is stationed and primarily serves the Lozano Long campus. Whenever the need arises, they will be dispatched to provide assistance to neighboring campuses and sites. Facilities Management has maintenance personnel assigned at the Greehey Academic and Research Campus (GARC) and at the Texas Research Park (TRP) as well as at the remote sites at Edinburg, Harlingen and Laredo.
