Employee of the Quarter
Facilities Management has a very active Employee of the Quarter and Employee of the Year program aimed to recognize those special individuals that go above and beyond what is expected of them. They represent the very best of the Health Science Center.
For the October - December 2010 quarter, our selectees are:
Michael Cooper Electrician - Lead |
Michael’s dedication to performing his duties as Shop Leader has resulted in the timely completion of several difficult projects. Michael constantly promotes a team atmosphere and his knowledge is sought out by others in solving difficult problems. Recognized as an expert in the electrical field, he has been a key contributor to several large projects, including the MED School Emergency Power Addition, TRP Switchgear Installation, CCRI Genome Project and the Library Heater Retrofit.
Michael‘s dedication and willingness to make the Facilities Management department a great place to work resulted in Michael volunteering and being an active participant in the 2010 Christmas Party Committee by supporting many fund raising events.
Michael is a great asset not only to Facilities Management but to the Health Science Center. |
Patricia’s efforts this past quarter have been essential in completing a number of high profile projects including the Medical Student Lounge and the GME Renovation. Her outstanding communication and professionalism with our clients and contractors has helped not only ensure that we meet our required deadlines, but has also given the clients a great sense of value from the services Facilities Management provides.
Patricia has done all this while exhibiting a great attitude and can-do spirit. She never fails to put in that extra effort when required, keeping the best interests of both Facilities Management and our clients in mind. This serves to not only maintain but improve our all important client relationships. |
Architect - Intermediate |
Antuan Zeno |
During the past quarter, the dedication and commitment Antuan has given to his job has been noticed. While staying focused on his daily tasks, Antuan also notifies his supervisor of discrepancies and present solutions to increase productivity. The floor crew recently had three crew members leave the department. Antuan’s suggestions on how to prioritize the work load and his skills as a floor technician have aided in completing the new assignments.
Antuan has a good understanding of what being a team player is in the Housekeeping Department. He is a great asset not only to Facilities Management but to the Health Science Center. |
James’ dedication to performing his duties regardless of size has been exemplary. He is constantly willing to stay extra hours to get high priority jobs completed such as the UT Police Remodel project and the new Faculty Health Clinic. James constantly not only identifies upcoming problems but actively works to provide solutions when discussing these problems with his supervisors. His willingness to perform work outside his trade has made him a valuable contributor assisting the masons on the security fence project as this high visibility project was started.
