Alumna Peggy Francis Receives Texas Nurse Practitioner of the Year Award
Peggy Francis, DNP, RN, MSN ’95, CS, CUNP, FNP-BC ’97 received the 2012 Texas Nurse Practitioner of the Year Award at the Texas Nurse Practitioners (TNP) annual conference in September.  She was recognized for the significant contributions she has made to the improvement of care for individuals, families, and communities as well as for the excellence she has demonstrated as a nurse practitioner and as a role model for other nurse practitioners and the nursing profession. More…

Nursing Students on a Mission
Each year since 2006, the School of Nursing has offered students a unique opportunity to participate in an international health care mission trip, the San Antonio Guatemalan Endeavor trip.  Last summer, Accelerated BSN students Helen Bowie, Christine Ledder, Leslie Mueller, Megan O’Leary, and Katrina Theis were chosen to participate in the 2012 trip.
