Applications are invited for a full-time LECTURER II POSITION in the Department of Cell Systems & Anatomy, School of Medicine, at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
We seek applicants interested and experienced in teaching human gross and microscopic anatomy courses to medical, dental, health professions and/or graduate students. Candidates should have a PhD, MD, DDS, or DVM. The appointment is renewable depending on teaching needs, availability of funding and performance. Advancement in the teaching track is feasible. The ideal applicant will have formal training and experience in teaching human anatomy and/or histology to medical, dental or health profession students, such that he/she could immediately move into a course leadership role. Evidence of a strong commitment to excellence in teaching is preferred. The Department has a rich history of teaching and research excellence and innovation. The primary responsibilities will include delivering high quality teaching, including the incorporation of modern digital technology, course preparation and administration, delivery, assessment, and working collaboratively with other faculty teaching anatomy. As a full faculty member, the successful applicant will be able to participate in departmental, university and external service activities to enhance his/her career development. Scholarly activities in education are also encouraged.
