Alumni Spotlight: Dr. August Blackburn, owner of Blackburn Statistics, LLC The Pipette Gazette, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, Dec, 2018.

 

Dr. August Blackburn graduated from the Integrated Multidisciplinary Graduate Program (IMGP) at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (now called the Integrated Biomedical Sciences program) in 2013. He is now the owner of Blackburn Statistics, LLC.

Congratulations to Michael Nipper who received the 2018 Armand J. Guarino Award for Excellence in Master's studies during the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences convocation yesterday!

 

The Guarino Award, named after the founding dean of GSBS, is the highest student award given by the Graduate School and recognizes outstanding performance by a student during his/her training.

Congratulations to Kay Oyajobi!
Dr. Kay Oyajobi is newly appointed as Deputy Chair in CSA for Education and Training. As part of his increased responsibilities in Education and Training, Kay will assist with the annual evaluation process for faculty focused on education and will help with analyses of teaching effort across the department. With his strong track record in securing extramural funding for training programs (PI, Multi-PI or co-PI on 4 extramural awards), leadership in the graduate program (CSA, IMGP and IBMS), prior leadership and current teaching of anatomical sciences (interdisciplinary anatomy), Kay makes substantial contributions to our educational success. Just last week he received a Presidential Teaching Excellence award for these same accomplishments.

 

 

It is with great pleasure we welcome back to our faculty, Dr. Maria Bartanuszova! Welcome home, Maria.
