CHARGE:
To serve in an advisory and consultative capacity to the President, the Executive Vice President for Facilities Planning and Operations, and the Environmental Health & Safety Office for matters pertaining to physical hazards; systematic review and analysis of injuries and illnesses reported through the Worker’s Compensation Insurance program; systematic review and analysis of the complaints or concerns pertaining to physical hazards; monitoring the Physical Safety Program within the Environmental Health & Safety Office; reviewing proposed physical safety policies promulgated by the Environmental Health & Safety Office; advising on regulatory agency reviews relating to physical hazards, including life and fire safety codes; and to serve as an avenue of appeal in cases of dispute or exception. This committee is required by The University of Texas System policy.


Term of membership: Three years


Additional information: Committee currently meets the 2nd Tuesday of March, June, September, and December. Additional meetings as needed.
